About Joe Thordarson
"When I was in 8th grade, I took my first shop class, which focused on Woodworking, and from that moment on, I was hooked.
Since then I have studied classical furniture design and joinery, (where we learned how to make furniture and cabinetry without the use of nails or screws) became a highly accomplished Wood Turner, and even spent two and a half years working as a Catholic Missionary, where I used my carpentry skills to help the poorest of the poor in the Mississippi Delta.
Since 1995 however, I have spent those decades helping Mid-Southerners make their homes more interesting, functional, and beautiful. There are fewer things I find more satisfying then working directly with a homeowner on a unique, or challenging home improvement project.
Above all else, I pride myself on exceptional craftsmanship. Which is why I put a special focus on making good design choices, and doing the necessary prep work to insure great results.
One of the top advantages for my customers however, is the fact that I have always focused on maintaining a low overhead in my business, and avoiding wasteful spending, which allows me to offer exceptional craftsmanship, at a competitive price.
Finally, I also believe that tackling a home improvement project should be an enjoyable experience. Which is why I also put a special focus on things like; putting everything about the project in writing before beginning work, returning phone calls and emails promptly, keeping the job-site as neat and quiet as possible, and treating all of my customers the way I would treat a friend.
I'm always looking for interesting or challenging projects, so please feel free to contact me directly at: 901-921-7105 or thorswood@gmail.com
Looking forward to working with you!"
